Two persons were detained on Thursday in connection with the theft at Bollywood actor Shilpa Shetty’s Juhu residence, police said.

The incident came to light on Wednesday when Shetty’s husband, Raj Kundra, returned home from work and found that the lock of the main door was broken. He then checked the house and found that some valuables, including jewellery and cash, were missing.

Kundra filed a complaint with the Juhu police, following which a case was registered.

The police have detained two persons, identified as Suresh Shinde and Rahul Mane, in connection with the theft. Shinde is a security guard at a nearby building, while Mane is a watchman at a temple in the area.

The police are interrogating the two men and are trying to recover the stolen items.

Shetty, who is currently in Italy with her family, has not commented on the incident.

The theft has shocked the security industry in Mumbai. Security experts say that the incident is a reminder that even the homes of celebrities are not safe from burglars. They have advised people to take all necessary precautions to secure their homes, including installing CCTV cameras and hiring security guards.
