Indian multinational educational company BYJU’S has signed Football icon Lionel Messi as their global ambassador for the campaign, Education For All.

This famous Argentine player is known for running his own charity Leo Messi Foundation, a non-profit organization that focuses on improving the conditions of children affected by war, poverty, illness, and disability. They even conducted various campaigns where school supplies were sent to Syria where children had to quit schooling because of frequent wars.

BYJU’S believes Messi is the right person to collaborate with. Having about 450 Million followers on social media, Messi takes on the driving seat promoting educational campaigns to a larger number of audience.

On Twitter, the news spread like wildfire.

BYJU’S founder Divya Gokulnath states, “We are honored and excited to collaborate with Lionel Messi as our global ambassador. He is a once-in-a-generation talent whose pursuit of excellence, all-in mentality, humility, and reliability resonate deeply with Byju’s brand values. He rose from the grassroots to become one of the most successful sportspersons ever” he continues saying “I am sure this partnership will inspire millions of people around the world to dream bigger and learn better.”

However, people are not quite impressed by this action taken by this educational company after it recently decided to lay off 2500 employees due to macroeconomic conditions.
