Hyundai, the South Korean automaker, is reportedly working on an electric version of its popular Creta SUV. The Creta EV is expected to be launched in India in early 2025.

The Creta EV is expected to be powered by a 39.2kWh lithium-ion battery pack that will offer a range of up to 250 kilometers on a single charge. The SUV will be equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor that will produce 136bhp of maximum power and 395Nm of peak torque.

In terms of features, the Creta EV is expected to get a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a sunroof, a wireless charging pad, and a host of safety features.

The Creta EV is expected to be priced between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 30 lakh. It will compete with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki YY8 EV SUV and the Tata Nexon EV.

The launch of the Creta EV is a major step by Hyundai in its plans to electrify its product portfolio. The automaker has already launched the Kona Electric and the Ioniq 5 in India. With the Creta EV, Hyundai is looking to further expand its electric vehicle lineup in the country.
